How to transfer Wells Fargo points to travel partners
First, sign in to your Wells Fargo Rewards account, and open the partner points-transfer area. Choose the partner program where you’d like to transfer your points, enter the number of points, and hit submit. It takes just a few minutes to go through this process. The steps below walk you through it in detail.
Step 1: Log into the Wells Fargo rewards portal and click Wells Fargo Rewards
Click on your Wells Fargo Rewards points balance.
Step 2: Access the travel partners area
Open the section for transferring points to airline or hotel partners by hovering over Use Rewards, then clicking Rewards Points Transfer.
Step 3: Select your airline transfer partner
Choose the airline loyalty program you want. Remember that Wells Fargo’s list is short, so confirm that the partner you want is actually on it. If Wells Fargo doesn’t partner directly with your airline of choice, you may still be able to travel with that airline by using a workaround. How to transfer Wells Fargo points to United
United isn't a direct Wells Fargo transfer partner, but you do have a path to book United flights. Wells Fargo connects to Star Alliance through avianca lifemiles, which lets you book United award seats from within their program. Lifemiles customer support and seat availability can be spotty, though. For more reliable access to United flights, many travelers pair Wells Fargo points with another bank currency that transfers directly to United.
How to transfer Wells Fargo points to American Airlines
While American isn't a direct Wells Fargo transfer partner, you can still use your Wells Fargo points to book American’s award seats. It just takes a little more work. To do this, book through a oneworld partner Wells Fargo does reach, such as an Avios program (e.g. British Airways Club) or Cathay Pacific. Both of those programs let you access American’s flights through their booking systems. Be sure to confirm the seat availability through the partner program before moving your points.

To do this, transfer to Flying Blue or Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, both of which can book Delta award space. A few things already set it apart. First, you don't need a premium card to transfer points - even Wells Fargo's no-annual-fee cards allow transfers at a 1:1 ratio, which is rare.
