Bilt gives you the strongest transfer-partner list of any bank currency, plus broad access to several partners that its competitors heavily restrict. It gives card holders a full-value (1:1) transfer to Japan Airlines, for example, and it’s the only major transferable currency that transfers to Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines’ Atmos Rewards. It also lets you transfer to World of Hyatt and United without requiring a high-annual-fee card, as the big banks do. The catch here is on the earning side. Bilt can be the most complex currency to learn and understand. The “best” redemption, as always, depends on your specific award route, your cabin, the cash fees, and whether the seat is available to book in the first place.
Bilt Rewards best uses at a glance:
Bilt has the best transfer-partner list of any bank currency. It reaches programs other banks treat as exclusive, headlined by World of Hyatt, JAL, and Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines’ Atmos Rewards.
Bilt points, sometimes called Bilt Rewards points, transfer to 24 airline and hotel transfer partners, nearly all at a 1:1 ratio.
Rent Day promotions on the first of every month can boost the value of your points, but they don’t run every month. When they do, they’re among the best recurring bonuses in the space.
Rent Day bonuses scale with your Bilt status, and a Bilt Cash boost of up to 200%, at the top tier.
Bilt uses two currencies, which can be confusing. Bilt Points transfer to airline and hotel loyalty programs. Bilt Cash is a separate credit that boosts earning but is only used within the Bilt app.
Award space can vanish quickly. Confirm that your preferred award seat is bookable before you transfer your points. Points transfers are one-way and cannot be undone.

How do you get the most value from Bilt points?
You get the most value by transferring Bilt points to an airline or hotel partner and booking an award that’s worth more than its cash price. Bilt's value can be found in transfers, and it’s usually not worth redeeming your points in other ways. Mark Rent Day (the first of the month) on your calendar. It often features transfer bonuses that can make a good transfer even better.

Transfer Bilt points to airline and hotel partners for the best value
With Bilt you can transfer your points into an airline or hotel program, and then book the award yourself from there. Typically, this is what makes your Bilt points worth far more than a flat redemption.
Bilt's real edge is its partner roster. Transfer Bilt points to World of Hyatt and United, which are otherwise exclusive to Chase, plus Japan Airlines at full value and Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines' Atmos Rewards. No major bank currency can touch that last one. For the full partner list and the transfer ratios for each, see our guide to Bilt transfer partners. For step-by-step instructions, see the guide on how to transfer Bilt points. If you can, it’s smart to time your transfer around Rent Day, because a bonus can impact which partner gets you the best value.
When to use Rent Day, and when the Bilt portal makes sense
Bilt’s Rent Day event lands on the first of every month, but you can’t predict when a transfer bonus will work for you. When it does, it's a real prize. Bonuses scale with your Bilt status and can be “boosted” with Bilt Cash, up to200% at the top tier. Other issuers rarely top 50 percent transfer bonuses. So for anyone who’s in the position to use it, this is the best recurring bonus out there.
There are a few things to be aware of. The bonus is capped, so only a set number of points qualify. And because this bonus doesn't run every month, treat it as a nice surprise, not a guarantee. Check out our list of current transfer bonuses before you book.
The Bilt portal, by contrast, should be a last resort when it comes to using your points. Bilt's value is almost entirely in transfers, so use the portal only when you’re hunting for a specific flight and can't wait for award space to appear. To learn more about the value of your points, see our guide on how much Bilt points are worth. For partner-by-partner tactics, see the Bilt points tricks and workarounds guide.
What are the best Bilt point redemptions?
The table below sums up the redemptions that make Bilt's roster worthwhile, plus an option for hotels and more on Rent Day.
Best for | Example use | Program | Why it offers value | Key caveat |
Japan and Asia in business class | Japan Airlines flights to Tokyo | JAL Mileage Bank | Full value transfers from Bilt, and JAL releases far more award space to members than to partners | Redemptions are limited to the account holder and their family |
Atmos Rewards partner flights | American Airlines domestic flights | Atmos Rewards | The only major path into Atmos Rewards, with a competitive partner chart | Pricing on its own flights sometimes isn’t competitive when partner flights are also an option for the same route |
Star Alliance business | United to Europe or Asia | United MileagePlus | The only non-Chase path to United MileagePlus, saver space is gated | Need a United co-brand credit card or elite status to book saver space |
Emirates long-haul | Dubai routes and fifth-freedom flights (e.g. New York City to Milan) | Emirates Skywards | Bilt kept its full-value Emirates ratio when other banks cut theirs | High redemption rates and high cash fees |
Hotels | Well-priced and aspirational stays | World of Hyatt | Full value with no high-fee card required, and the best points-to-room value in hotels | A 2026 pricing change raised peak rates at top properties |
Bonus timing | Any partner, on the 1st of the month | Rent Day transfer bonus | Up to 200%, scaling with status, boostable with Bilt Cash | Capped, and it doesn't run every month |

What are the best ways to use Bilt points for flights?
These are the flight redemptions where Bilt points really shine.
Fly Japan Airlines to Asia via Japan Airlines Mileage Bank
Best for: Travelers headed to Japan or across Asia in a premium cabin who want a 1:1 redemption.
Route, cabin, and program: Japan Airlines (JAL) flights to Tokyo and beyond, booked through JAL Mileage Bank. JAL is a oneworld program that can book seats across oneworld partners. It’s also a great option for booking non-oneworld partner flights.
Why it offers value: Bilt transfers to JAL at full value, a 1:1 transfer ratio. That matters, because most other banks offer JAL transfers at a reduced ratio. JAL also releases far more award space to its own members than it shows partner programs, so seats to Japan are more likely to be there when demand is high.
Fees and trade-offs: The miles are only part of the full ticket cost. Award tickets still add cash fees and taxes, though JAL's fees are moderate for the region. JAL awards are also restricted to family members, so read the rules before you try to book for anyone outside your household.
Availability and execution: Find the seat, confirm it's bookable, then transfer your points. You’re required to transfer a minimum of 2,000 points per transaction if you’re an entry-tier Bilt user. That minimum drops to 1,000 once you reach Silver status.
Fly partner flights via Atmos Rewards
Best for: Anyone looking to fly Atmos Rewards partner airlines.
Route, cabin, and program: Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines flights, plus their partners, booked through Atmos Rewards. Atmos is now part of the oneworld alliance, but also has many non-oneworld partner airlines, such as Starlux Airlines.
Why it offers value: Bilt points are the only major bank currency that transfers to Atmos, so this partnership is unique. The program also prices partner awards on a competitive chart, which makes it useful well beyond Alaska's own network.
Fees and trade-offs: Cash fees are reasonable on most Atmos awards. The main constraint is space, not fees. Business-class seats can be hard to find, so it helps if you have flexibility on travel dates or your preferred route. Pricing on their own flights isn’t competitive either, especially when a partner airline has availability on the same route and date.
Availability and execution: Confirm award availability before you transfer, because Bilt transfers are one-way and cannot be undone. Alaska releases economy space to partners fairly generously, while premium seats require more patience.
Fly United to Europe or Asia via United MileagePlus
Best for: Star Alliance travelers who hold an eligible United co-brand credit card or elite status and want United's gated saver seats without a Chase account.
Route, cabin, and program: United-operated flights and Star Alliance partners, booked through United MileagePlus. United is a Star Alliance program.
Why it offers value: Bilt is the only major currency besides Chase that transfers to United. Since 2026, United has released its best saver seats mainly to members who hold a United co-brand credit card or have status, so the co-brand credit card is what unlocks space that partner programs can’t. United also charges no fuel surcharges and no cancellation fees, which keeps awards flexible.
Fees and trade-offs: Without a United co-brand credit card or status, you have access to the same limited saver space as everyone else, so a co-branded credit card is worth having here. Keep an eye out for "saver" pricing, not "standard." Standard pricing will cost far more miles for the same seat.
Availability and execution: Confirm saver space availability on United before you transfer points. Note that United no longer offers stopovers, so head to Air Canada Aeroplan if this is an important part of your trip.
Fly Emirates long-haul via Emirates Skywards
Best for: Travelers looking for long-haul flights via Dubai or Emirates’ “fifth-freedom” routes that fly nonstop between cities that are not Dubai.
Route, cabin, and program: Emirates-operated flights, including fifth-freedom routes like New York to Milan, booked through Emirates Skywards.
Why it offers value: Bilt is the one issuer that has kept its full-value transfer ratio to Emirates while others cut theirs. That means a Bilt transfer gets you more Emirates miles than if you transferred points from Bilt’s competitors. Emirates also has unusually good year-round premium cabin availability, especially in business.
Fees and trade-offs: Emirates charges high redemption rates and high cash fees, so this is a strategy for convenience and availability, not affordability. Run the cash cost of the fees before you commit, and lean on Emirates when they’re the only program with availability for your route and date.
Availability and execution: Emirates releases a solid amount of business-class space, so this is easier to book than most premium awards. Confirm the seat availability first, then transfer.
What are the best ways to use Bilt points for hotels?
Bilt's hotel value can mostly be found in one exceptional partner. In general, though, your points do more work on flights, so transfer to Bilt’s other hotel partners only to top up an existing balance.
Book Hyatt stays via World of Hyatt
Best for: Travelers who want the most points-efficient hotel redemptions, and who don't want to hold a high-fee card to get them.
Hotel use and program: Award nights at Hyatt properties, from Hyatt Place and Hyatt House up to Park Hyatt and Andaz, booked by transferring Bilt points to World of Hyatt at 1:1.
Why it offers value: This is Bilt's quiet advantage over other currencies. Bilt reaches Hyatt at full 1:1 value with no premium-card requirement, while Chase cardholders now need a Sapphire Reserve card to receive the same full rate. Hyatt itself asks fewer points per night than Marriott, IHG, or Hilton for comparable properties, and its elite benefits for top-tier members, like a 4 p.m. late checkout and breakfast, are among the most reliably delivered in the industry. Hyatt also waives resort fees on award stays, so compare the all-in cash price against the points price.
Limitations: A 2026 pricing change raised peak-season rates at top properties, so an aspirational stay at peak can cost more than it used to. Small-market and mid-tier Hyatts remain the reliable winners.

For card-specific Bilt optimization tactics, see our Bilt points tricks and workarounds guide.
To get more out of your Bilt points if you’re an elite-tier member, stack a Rent Day bonus with a Bilt Cash boost to push a transfer far past its face value.
You can also earn points on rent, which almost no other card does, to build a travel balance from a regular payment you already make.
Run the numbers on which Bilt card and earning model works best for you, since the right setup depends on your spending.
What Bilt point redemptions should you avoid?
A few Bilt moves return less than they should. Leave these alone.
Don't redeem Bilt points for anything that isn't a transfer. The portal and other cash-value options return far less than a good award. The robust transfer program is the whole point of holding Bilt.
Don't mistake Bilt Cash for Bilt points. Bilt Cash boosts your earning and your Rent Day bonus. But it cannot be transferred to an airline or hotel. Only Bilt points can do that.
Skip transferring to Hilton through Bilt. Bilt reaches Hilton at 1:1, but Amex reaches it at a far better rate, so a Bilt transfer would need a huge bonus just to match it. Use your Bilt points elsewhere.
Don't treat Rent Day bonuses as a guarantee. The bonus is capped, the available transfer programs change, and it doesn't run every month.
Don't move points for a booking you haven't fully confirmed. Bilt transfers are one-way and rarely reversible.
Frequently asked questions about using Bilt points
Summary and expert verdict
The best way to use Bilt points is to transfer them to the strongest transfer partner roster in the business. If you can, transfer your points on Rent Day when there’s a live bonus that makes sense for your trip. Bilt offers full-value transfers to JAL and is the only major issuer that lets you transfer to Alaska's Atmos. Bilt points also transfer to Hyatt and United without a high-fee card requirement. There are some real tradeoffs for this partner access: Bilt is a newer currency, its service is mostly chat-based, and figuring out its earning rules takes work and practice. But for a traveler who values its standout partner list, Bilt can work as the single currency you hold.
point.me take
Bilt is one of my favorite currencies out there, mainly because it has one of the best transfer partner lists around, including programs that have historically been semi-exclusive to other issuers or currencies. It's a nicely diverse mix, which is why I'd call it the strongest currency out there for everything from hotels to airlines. You really can't go wrong with it.
One strategic note: because Bilt’s list of transfer partners overlaps with a lot of other transferable currencies, if you also hold points in programs like Amex or Chase, you're better off conserving your Bilt points for redemptions on partners that are only accessible through Bilt. The reason is that Bilt points are harder to accrue, as you can't have more than one personal card, and there are no business cards currently. So you want to be more selective about how you spend them.
