The Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card steps up with an annual companion certificate for paid fares to the US, Mexico, Caribbean, and Central America, plus MQD head start and boost for status. What we love
- Annual companion certificate for paid fares to the US, Mexico, Caribbean, and Central America
- MQD head start and boost to accelerate Delta status
- Stacked credits, $150 Delta Stays, $10 rideshare, $10 Resy, help offset the $350 fee
- Eligible for complimentary upgrades, which United's card doesn't offer
What we don't
- Weak earn rates outside 3x on Delta and hotels
- Only pays off if you fly Delta enough to use the certificate and credits

Delta SkyMiles
Delta SkyMiles can be used across more than 20 airlines, with the bulk of that network made up of fellow SkyTeam members. Beyond the alliance, Delta also maintains relationships with several non-alliance carriers, such as LATAM and WestJet, which rounds out the program's redemption options and gives members added flexibility when booking award travel to destinations SkyTeam alone doesn't cover well.
