General Questions

We’re a real-time search and booking engine that makes it easy to book flights with points. We are on your side and committed to transparency so you can travel more and travel better.

We make it easy to:

  • Search for available reward flights across multiple airlines
  • Compare all your flight options and maximize the value of your points
  • Access step-by-step booking instructions to seamlessly purchase a reward flight
  • Track your points and miles balances in many of the most popular airline loyalty programs

We’ll show you how to use your points to book flights by transferring them to an airline loyalty program. In most cases, we’ll show you options that require considerably fewer points than you might expect. You’ll have all the information you need to compare your flight options and maximize the value of your points.

Glad you asked! The short answer is that there is no practical difference.

Typically loyalty currencies issued by banks, such as American Express Membership Rewards®, are referred to as “points,” while some airline programs, such as Delta SkyMiles® use the term “miles.”

The name has no bearing on how the currency can be used for booking flights.

Loyalty programs have been around for decades, especially in the airline industry. However, booking award travel can feel cumbersome, like you’re jumping through multiple hoops just to book a flight! This is where point.me comes in. We’re the first company to offer a tool that makes it easier to use miles and points for air travel. Not only does our tool show you flight options that are bookable using your points, we also guide you step-by-step to book the flight yourself!

We offer two services to help you get the best deals with your points: point.me self-serve and point.me concierge.

The point.me self-service tool is a real time search engine that makes it easy to find and compare flights that you can book with 30+ booking programs. The point.me self-serve tool offers step-by-step instructions to guide you through every step of the process. This is the perfect tool for planning one-way and roundtrip itineraries.

With the point.me concierge, you interact one-on-one with a specialist to construct your dream trip. The concierge will search for the best flights that can be booked with your points and handle every step of the booking process. We highly recommend working with a concierge for complex itineraries, round-the-world trips, hard-to-find rewards, or special occasions such as honeymoons. The concierges can also assist with ‘Mileage Run’ consulting to help you pursue and maintain elite status.

We have a full range of services to meet all your needs when it comes to redeeming points for flights. Let’s walk through our various services!

We offer two different services: Self-Serve and Concierge.

With Self-Serve, you pay for either a day pass for $5, or a monthly subscription for $12 per month, or a yearly subscription for $129 to use our self-serve search tool to search for and book award flights yourself. With self-serve you can search for one-way or roundtrip itineraries to one destination at a time. Every search scans over 33 airline loyalty programs and 100+ airlines. Once you find an itinerary you like, we provide step-by-step instructions on how to book the flight. Please note that you won’t you won't actually book the flight on point.me, but you will be given clear instructions on how to transfer your points and complete the booking. You would handle the searching and booking yourself.

We also offer a $260 Premium yearly subscription for our self-serve search tool, which includes a complimentary Points Strategy Consultation (a $200 value) as well as 10% off of any Concierge booking you make for a year. However, please note, Concierge bookings are not included in the $260 fee and are a separate charge for each trip you book.

The Concierge service allows you the opportunity to work directly with one of our expert concierges. You would let the concierge know which points and miles you currently have and your travel goals and degree of flexibility. The concierge will then conduct all the relevant research to find flights you can book with your points. When it comes to booking, the concierge will walk you through every step of the process of transferring points and booking. Your Concierge will also make your seat assignments for you, as well, as that can be a bit tricky with partner award bookings.

The Concierge is priced at $200 per passenger for a roundtrip booking or 2 two one-ways within the same region (e.g.: flying into Paris and back from Rome). We do require a $25 non-refundable trip deposit to get started on a search. For more complex routings, such as Round-the-World itineraries, we can put together a custom quote as they can be very labor intensive.

Additionally, we offer a Points Strategy Consultation, where you work one-on-one with our Points Advisor to craft a tailored earning strategy for your credit card sign-ups and spending category bonuses to get you earning the right points to make your dream trip a reality! The cost for this service is $200.

Finally, we offer an Elite Status concierge offer that’s perfect for anyone looking for help achieving and maintaining elite status with an airline. This service, priced at $200/person, includes working one-on-one with one of our concierges to generate itineraries that would secure the desired elite status

We're flattered that you want to refer us and help your friends and family find great deals!

At this time, we do not have a formal referral program for Standard monthly and annual members. Premium members receive five complimentary starter pass trial codes annually to share with friends and family.

The point.me self-serve tool is available to anyone around the world! While we primarily support US-based credit card programs, we do also support many of the major international airline loyalty programs.

On the point.me flight results page, you will see most non-US frequent flyer programs as individual redemption options, regardless of who their credit card partners are. For instance, our members based in Spain can easily see redemption opportunities bookable with Iberia Plus, and our customers in Japan can find great deals that can be booked with JAL Mileage Bank or ANA Mileage Club. Please see our services page for a full list of the credit card and airline programs we currently support to confirm that you see the programs most applicable to your circumstances.

Additionally, members who do hold a points-earning credit card issued by one of our supported programs will usually see relevant transfer options on point.me. For example, members who hold a UK American Express Membership Rewards card will find that we support nearly all of their transfer partners.

When it comes, to showing where you can transfer your credit card points specifically, right now our booking instructions only show the steps for the US credit card programs. However, these will still likely be helpful and directionally applicable for cardholders outside the US.

Certainly! The point.me Self-Serve tool can be accessed on multiple devices with an internet connection.

We want to ensure that everyone has a great experience on point.me, so our terms and conditions allow for reasonable limitations to our search tool.

Feel free to use our real-time search engine for personal use, but please note that we do actively monitor for instances of excessive searches and the use of automated data gathering (e.g. scraping, bots). Additionally, sharing passwords among a large group outside your household is not allowed.

Our goal is to maintain a fair environment for all our members. If you’d like to use point.me for commercial use or have a need for high-frequency search, please contact us to discuss your options.

We are open to a variety of partnerships as part of our mission to help people travel better. Please tell us a bit more about yourself here.

Finding Flights You Can Book With Points

Absolutely! The point.me Self-Serve tool searches over 100 airlines and 30+ loyalty programs to show you all the possible flight options bookable using points. Once the results are fully loaded, use the filters to easily sort and compare your options and find the best flight that works for you!

Great question! Searching for flights you can book with points is a little different than searching for flights you might pay for with money, but it’s usually worth the effort!

Don’t give up if you don’t immediately find the perfect flight to book with points. We recommend trying one or more of these tips:

Be flexible: Try searching for different dates or explore alternative airports and destinations. Alternatively, sometimes it’s worth trying a different class of service. You might be pleasantly surprised to discover that you can fly in business or first class for the same or marginally more points than economy.

Be patient: Reward flight inventory changes rapidly. If you don’t find what you’re looking for today, try again later.

Don’t wait: When you spot a reward flight that works for you, book it. Reward flight inventory can change rapidly, so we always recommend booking immediately. Note, however, that if you change your mind or find a different flight, you might be subject to airline change/refund fees.

Search one-way: Even if you intend to travel roundtrip, we always recommend searching for your outbound and inbound flights separately. Most airlines allow one-way reward tickets, which means you’ll get better results if you search for the two legs individually.

Be realistic & creative: Hoping to use points for a last-minute, summer trip with your family of 4 to Europe in business class? While not impossible, this will be a rare find. Most airlines offer only a limited number of reward seats, so using points for large groups can be tough. Consider booking some seats with points and purchasing additional seats with cash or splitting up your group and taking separate flights.

We support all major credit card loyalty programs, including

American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Brex, Capital One, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Citi ThankYou.

We also support over 30+ airline loyalty programs. To see the full list of which programs we support please head to Our Services page.

Note that at this time we do not directly support Marriott Bonvoy. However, point.me already searches across most of Marriott Bonvoy’s airline partner programs that allow Bonvoy points to be exchanged for points in their own program.

Great question!

All point.me subscribers have the option to manually add their loyalty program. This step is totally optional! Your experience will not be negatively impacted if you opt not to add your points.

Adding your points balances manually makes it easy for you to see all your points in one place, which can be handy when searching for reward flights.

Additionally, once you've added programs to Your Rewards, you can use the toggle pictured below at the top of the flight search results page to filter the results for only those options you can book with the points you already have.

Rest assured that we take your security seriously at point.me. The Your Rewards page only displays the information you want to see in one place. We do not have access to your loyalty program accounts or login credentials.

Here's how to get started adding your points balance to point.me

Login and select the 'Your Rewards' dropdown in the upper right corner

Select the option to 'manually add card program' or 'add another'

A point.me pick is our recommendation for the best overall option to book your selected flight. We make a holistic recommendation based on a combination of our decades of experience redeeming points and the cost to redeem for your flight.

Most flights you’ll find on point.me can be booked through a variety of rewards and loyalty programs. We know it’s exciting to see all the ways to use your points, but also potentially a little overwhelming. Don’t worry! We’ve redeemed billions of miles, so we know the ins and outs of every loyalty program: from ease of booking, change policies and fees, to customer service quality if things go awry.

Remember, we work for you, not the airlines, so we combine 10 of these factors into our proprietary formula, consider the points for an itinerary (including taxes and fees) then display redemption options in the order we’d choose for ourselves.

In some cases, you might see a point.me pick recommendation for a program that charges more points ranked above one that appears less expensive. This is intentional. We believe the best trips start long before departure, and our experience tells us the “cheapest” option isn’t always the best overall value. While we highlight the point.me pick, we always show you all your booking options so you have the flexibility to book with the program of your choice. We're here to support you.

You can use your points to fly with more airlines than you might expect. Most airline loyalty programs allow you to use points and miles to book on their flights and their airline partners. See the table below for a few examples of how you can use your credit card points to access more airlines:

The point.me self-serve engine makes it easy to find and book all these additional flight options to get you to your destination.

Booking a Flight with Points

Unfortunately, booking flights with points is slightly more cumbersome than paying with money - but it’s a small price to pay for incredible value! Our proprietary booking instructions will walk you through every step of the process from transferring your points to booking directly with an airline program. In some cases, you may need to call an airline to complete a booking. Our booking instructions will recommend this when necessary and provide the right phone number. The overwhelming majority of reward bookings can be completed in 10 minutes or less.

Yes! However, it wouldn’t be the best use of points in most cases. All banks have a “fixed value” on points redemptions made through their travel portal, which can include bookings on hotels and activities. Because of that, you usually get better value out of your points by redeeming for airline tickets via points transfers. If you have hotel points or are interested in working with a luxury travel advisor, please see our hotels page.

Work with a Concierge

With the point.me concierge, you work one-on-one with one of our specialists to construct your dream trip. The concierge will hunt down the best flights that can be booked with your points and handle every step of the booking process. Working with a concierge is perfect for complex itineraries, round-the-world trips, hard-to-find rewards, or special occasions such as honeymoons. Additionally, the concierges can help with 'Mileage Runs' to help you pursue and maintain elite status.

Here's what to expect when working with a concierge:

  1. You'll submit an reward trip request to tell us more about your dream trip and the points you have. Share any specific requests or particulars about your trip in the ‘tell us more about you and your dream trip’ field. You'll submit a non-refundable, $25 good faith fee on our concierge homepage.
  2. You'll be matched with a concierge who specializes in your destination.
  3. The concierge will reach out to you with a summary of flight options for you to select from. Note that these flight options will not reveal the operating carrier and flight times, but will provide useful context to help you make a great choice!
  4. In cases where reward availability is limited, the concierges will work with you to come up with creative alternatives or explore other options.
  5. Once you've selected an itinerary and submitted payment for the remaining balance, the concierge will advise on the next steps.
  6. The concierge will verify that your reservation is properly ticketed and assist with confirming seat assignments for you.

Visit our concierge homepage for more details.

Working with a concierge is a great idea when you have points in several accounts and you're not sure which are the best ones to use, are traveling with a larger group, or want expert help navigating the process. The number of points required for flights will be similar to what you see on the self-serve tool.

The Honeymoon Bundle offers end-to-end support to make honeymoon dreams come true! This Bundle is the perfect gift for a couple to eliminate the stress of planning a memorable honeymoon.

Couples work one-on-one with a specialist to activate a strategy to acquire the right points they need for their dream honeymoon and then full-service assistance with booking. Our concierges are experts in explaining the ins and outs of the world's best business and first-class flights, booking exclusive luxury properties with points, and advising on unique honeymoon destinations to consider.

The service kicks off with the points strategy call, during which the couple will be offered personalized advice on the right strategy to maximize points earning - including how to earn points on wedding expenses.

Additionally, the Bundle includes a full-service reward flight booking for two individuals and, when relevant, award night hotel bookings.

We recommend signing up for the Honeymoon Bundle as early as possible to maximize the points earning potential and take advantage of expanded reward flight availability.

The Honeymoon bundle starts at $800 and requires a non-refundable, $25 good faith search fee.

We know round-the-world trips can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience that requires careful planning. Our specialized RTW concierges have deep experience booking these itineraries.

Due to the complexity of these trips, concierge pricing for RTW itineraries is determined on a custom basis, with a base price of $200/per passenger and $200 per stop, per passenger. We also require a 50% non-refundable deposit to get started.

To get started, submit your concierge request here. Please use the drop-down selectors to indicate your preferred outbound (start) and inbound (end) dates. You can indicate additional start/end dates for individual legs of your proposed itinerary in the "Tell us more about you and your upcoming trip" section of the form.

Making changes to a reward flight itinerary can sometimes require restarting the reward flight search process.

To cancel an itinerary and process a redeposit of points spent, our fee is $100/passenger for itineraries that were originally booked with one of our concierges and $200/passenger for itineraries that were booked outside point.me.

To search for and book alternative flights with assistance from our concierge team would incur our regular, full-service booking fee of $200/passenger.
